Mohamed Nory, Procurement & Supply Chain General Manager, Zain Telecom KSA

How long have you worked in the telecom and technology industries?

I have worked in the telecom and technology industry for over 22 years, gaining experience across the entire ecosystem I work in both sids manufacturing and supplier aide and operator aide leading strategic procurement, supply chain transformation, and digital initiatives. Today, I head Supply Chain & Procurement at Zain KSA, focusing on innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable value creation.

How is the supply chain industry evolving when it comes to sustainability and responsibility?

Procurement is no longer just about cost it is about creating long-term value. Sustainability, ESG, supplier ethics, and digital transformation are now key decision factors. At Zain, we continue to leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency while supporting responsible sourcing.

What sort of developments are you seeing in the region’s circular economy?

Saudi Arabia is making significant progress through Vision 2030. We are seeing increased focus on recycling, extending the lifecycle of telecom assets, responsible e-waste management, and stronger collaboration between companies .

I believe collaboration between operators, vendors, and regulators will be the key driver of the next phase of sustainable growth.

What’s important for you to see in the applications?

I look for clear evidence of measurable impact. Strong applications demonstrate innovation, sustainability, quantifiable results, and well-supported achievements.

Supporting documentation is essential. Applicants should demonstrate not only what they achieved, but also how the initiative delivered value to customers, the business, and the wider community. A compelling submission combines strategic vision with tangible outcomes.
